85% of cases of sterility are due to causes that can be diagnosed with a suitable study of the couple, and the most advisable treatment can thus be applied to provide a solution.

A complete, simultaneous analysis is performed on the sterile couple, following a study protocol aimed at discarding the most common problems in both the woman and the man. When the information thus obtained deems it advisable, we carry out more specific tests to identify details of the complaint that is altering the couple’s chances of conception.

It is important to point out that each one of the causes that alter the reproduction process requires a specific kind of treatment, which in some cases is limited to prescribing certain drugs or simple surgical operations to correct anatomical defects.

When the couple’s problems are not solved in these ways using medical or surgical treatment, we turn to Assisted Reproduction. This is the name generally given to a set of procedures in which the cooperation of a very specialised reproduction biology laboratory is fundamental, where the ova and/or spermatozoa are treated to improve their fertilising capacity, and the embryos obtained are cultivated to improve their capacity for implantation.
